Mornings are my absolute favorite. I have a whole ritual filled with things that I look forward to, but my favorite one is my morning latte. Since I hold my morning latte in such high esteem, creating a cozy espresso bar at home was extremely important.
A thoughtfully designed home is all about the little details that you can add to your space to make it uniquely yours. And one simple way to do that, is by designing your own personalized napkins! I found Zazzle several months ago when searching online for a company that could personalize some napkins for my espresso bar and since finding them, I've created three custom cocktail napkin designs, and I am loving them! This post is not sponsored at all, but Zazzle, if you see this, holler at your girl. :)
If you're interested in learning how easy and fun it is to make your own DIY napkins for your at-home espresso or coffee bar, keep reading!
The design ideas are endless, so if you're not sure where to start, here are a few suggestions:
Your initials or monogram
Fun coffee-related quotes or graphics
Seasonal/holiday designs
Custom designs or artwork that match your decor theme
For my first napkin design, I went with our last name and significant dates that are meaningful to us.
Now that you've figured out the design vibe you're going with, let's get started with Zazzle!
#1. Visit Zazzle's Website
Go to Zazzle.com and create an account if you don't already have one. (Don't worry, it's free, but you can also make your napkins without creating an account).
#2. Navigate to Custom Napkins
In the search bar, type "custom napkins" or navigate through the "Home & Living" category to find napkins.
#3. Choose your Napkin Style
Zazzle offers a variety of napkin styles including cocktail, luncheon, and dinner napkins. Choose the style that best fits your espresso/coffee bar needs. The size I went with is "cocktail".
#4. Select a Template or Start from Scratch
Zazzle provides a variety of templates you can customize, or if you're feeling creative you can start from scratch by selecting the "Create Your Own" option. Also, don't be afraid to customize a template that doesn't necessarily fit with what you're using the napkins for. For example, our "The Tudors" napkin with the cross on top is actually inspired by one of the baptism napkin designs, I just customized the design within Zazzle to include what I wanted in the design and deleted the rest.
Designing Your Napkins
#1. Upload Your Design
If you have a specific design in mind, you can upload your artwork or image. Make sure the image is high-resolution for the best print quality.
#2. Use Zazzle's Design Tools or Template
If you're not uploading your own design, use Zazzle's design tools to edit an existing template or create your own within Zazzle. You can choose to add text, fonts, graphics, etc.
#3. Preview Your Design
Zazzle offers a preview feature so you can see how your napkins will look before committing. Make sure everything is aligned properly and looks just the way you want.
#4. Finalize Your Order
Once you're happy with how the design looks, choose the quantity you need. Zazzle often offers bulk discounts, which is an awesome option if you love to entertain.
Setting up Your Espresso Bar once Your Personalized Napkins Arrive
After placing your order, Zazzle will handle the printing and shipping. Once your napkins arrive, you can incorporate them into your espresso bar setup. Here are a few display ideas:
Napkin Holder: This was the option I went with; I love the Caspari Acrylic Cocktail Napkin Holder. They also have some other pretty options if you're not into acrylic.
Folded Neatly: Self-explanatory, but they can be neatly stacked beside your espresso machine, in a cute basket or on top of a tray.
Paired with Accessories: Combine them with coasters, coffee stirrers, coffee beans, etc. for a cohesive and stylish setup.
Creating personalized napkins for your home espresso bar is a simple and enjoyable DIY project that adds a unique touch to your coffee nook. Whether you're enjoying a quiet cup alone in the morning or entertaining guests, these custom napkins will make all of those moments feel a little fancier. And not only is this a fun DIY for your own home, but these also make great gift ideas; I just made some as part of a housewarming gift for my friend and her family!
Let me know what napkin design and setup you're going with for your next DIY project!
